Greening Australia

Yesterday the news sites were all aflutter over a grant provided to Sydney Theatre Company (under the directorship of Cate Blanchett and hubby Andrew Upton) to become environmentally sustainable, with a $1.2 million grant to be spent on installing sustainable technology at STC's historic home base, The Wharf, at Walsh Bay, including solar panels and a rainwater harvesting tank.

There are, of course, a lot of doubters of the whole climate change issue. Whether you believe in climate change or not, as a matter of environmental stewardship, surely investment in and care for our environment is a good thing - regardless of the reason? I know how I feel when I walk past someone smoking in the street - footpath rage! - and can only think that the waste we expel on a daily basis, be it plastic containers or smoggy pollutants, must invoke a similar response on our long-suffering atmosphere.

Speaking of smoking and Cate Blanchett - how smoking hot did she look at the Giorgio Armani Prive Fashion Show last week in Paris?

Here she is seated at the show with Megan Fox (another Aussie bombshell sending the tabloids into overdrive) and Elsa Pataky, Adrien Brody's ex-girlfriend (I saw the Darjeeling Limited the other night - funny movie, totally rated it).
