Derelicte

"Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique."
- Mugatu

Christian Louboutin has taken trash and turned it into sky-high shoe treasure. In a limited release for Barneys New York (*sigh*), Louboutin has released "Barneys Trash", using Barneys "items" (Barneys doesn't produce trash) to create a Warhol-esque tribute to rubbish, hard economic times (going cheap at just US$995), recycling and red-soled high heels.

Just on the issue of red soles, Australia's Peep Toe Shoes, which has until recently done a very nice Louboutin impression - styles and red heels - has changed it's tune. Red soles have been discarded in favour of purple - because purple soles don't fade into a red carpet, obviously. Might there have been a lawsuit threatened?
