Golden Globes ... Yawn

Naturally, being in a different time zone and all I haven't actually seen the Golden Globes, but I have spent the day staring at photos of the celebs who strolled the red carpet prior to the awards ceremony where, not surprisingly, Heath Ledger was posthumously awarded Best Supporting Actor for his jaw-dropping work in the latest Batman flick. Three cheers!

None of the other Aussies up for award contention did so great. And... apart from Isla Fisher who looked gorgeous, our Aussie girls didn't exactly do us proud on the red carpet.

Isla Fisher looks so pretty here! Sure, there's some boobage, but that's just her stance.

Surely Rachel Griffiths has read enough gofugyourself to know that satin is never a good idea for an awards ceremony, unless there is no sitting involved?! And mon got! It's just a gold sack! It's aaaaaaaaaawful!

Pretty ... boring.

Looking hot - as always - was my favourite redcarpet walker Eva Mendes, and a return-to-form Jennifer Lopez looking as bootylicious and scantily-clad as she ever did (which has been a while considering she'd been lugging twins around up until fairly recently). Maybe she overdid it in terms of the flesh display - particularly given the demureness of most attendees - but it was classic J.Lo, so who can be mad at her for that?

The necklace reminds me of Cameron Diaz in the pink Dior dress and turquoise necklace post JT

Hot muchacha! Sans spawn!

Angelina Jolie was nice to look at in Versace, but seriously not very exciting. In that same basket I place Penelope Cruz yes, clearly champagne-y neutral-y tones are back again, plus minimalist make-up and yes, of course she did it very well, but it was just a bit drab. Also boring was Beyonce who is really taking white dresses (in the wrong size) seriously since her nuptials to Jay Z. I hate to do it, but although Kate Winselt was looking svelte and wonderful, I just found the black strapless dress boring and predictable. Remember when she used to wear colour? *sigh*

Owning the champagne colour, on the other hand, was Vanessa Hudgens (and Isla, above).

Killer shape from that dress!

Then there were a bunch of one-shouldered dresses which I totally dug (except Cameron Diaz's roots - holy guacamole!): Maggie Gyllenhaal rocking quirky styling in blue leopard print from Lanvin, that Amanda chick from Mamma Mia and of course Cameron in Karl Lagerfield for Chanel.

Get this girl a bottle of bleach!

And then there were the statements: Eva Longoria - I am NOT pregnant, bitches! Renee Zellweger - I am alive - with big hair and inappropriate lingerie! Drew Barrymore - I'm here to have big big fun with my big big hair! (you go girlfriend! I loved it!)

And then... My favourite. Olivia Wilde from House: she used colour, she was on-trend with the skinny belt on a high waist. Her make-up was subtle yet stunning. her hair was un-fussy. And the design was gorgeous.
