Myer had its Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show at the Carriageworks in Sydney last week - just a day after the DJs show which was somewhat marred by controversy - and it was notably absent any scandal whatsoever. It was all about the fashion - heralded most fabulously by notable Aussie blondes Jennifer Hawkins and Jess Hart.
The show was a terribly well-crafted and concise message for this summer's coming trends for the southern hemisphere: many and mega gold accessories, cut-out swimsuits and ever-smaller bikinis, pastels, burnished metallics, muted beiges, crisp whites, sequins, wedges and the seasonally adapted gladiator heel and structural garments paired with silken, flowing dresses/pants/camis. Maxi dresses are also still a flowing favourite for summer - over a bikini or with a head scarf, aviators and structured jacket. We were also treated to mermaid chic, which, with its golden, peachy and turquoise hues and minimal styling around the bust is perfect for an Australian summer.
