One - wait, a lot I keep forgetting we're grown ups - of my friends are getting married soon. I saw these flower arrangements and couldn't help but think of the girls. These flowers are so pretty!
I stumbled across this florist's website, and now I can't find it! It's somewhere in Chelsea, London - they do weddings all over the world! Their website had pics from weddings in Manhattan, Barbados, UAE etc. Insane. I'm not usually a fan of roses, but the tea roses are just so whimsical and romantic looking here.
Blogger Love Outed
My goodness! Talk about blog fancy - two of snapdragon's favourite bloggers, Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist and Garance Dore of Garance Dore have apparently very recently coupled up! Which explains all those pictures of Garance on The Sartorialist of late! Talk about mutual admiration!

Magick Outlaw
They can't spell, but that's because they're too cool for school. Check out the latest coolness in t-shirts from Magick Outlaw, a Philadelphia-based pair of boys day-glowing and wordsmithing your wardrobe.
Gotta love yet another cementing of Kate Moss' status as Kate .... Boss! Loves it.

These Are A Few of My Favourite ...
Forever 21 purchases. I heart Forever 21 in a major way - so cheap, so fun, so on-trend it makes your heart wrench to walk out of the store, because you know yet more fabulous stock that you're desperate to own is being loaded onto the shelves.
I was mocked for buying this most awesome patent red heartshaped handbag, but I loves it! I use it as often as I can. It is glorious. And it was only $12.80. Happy, happy, happy!
I also bought the feather top (which is dry clean only! WTF?!) and these most skin-tight, shiny, liquidy pants. Mon dieu I love them too! (Mine don't have the stirrup thankfully). I dubbed them "Dolphin Pants" as they made a strange squealing noise as I pulled them on. They're lucky they get to travel to New York and Brisbane, rather than being hunted by Japanese. They are lucky.

The boyfriend jean phenomenon. I don't get it, and I really, really don't like it. I'm not a huge fan of jeans at the best of times (bizarre - I used to love them, although I have a sneaking suspicion it was one too many claustrophobic, panic stricken moments lying on my bed trying desparately to do up yet another pair of ridiculously tight cigarette leg jeans. Or worse, needing to rip them off to go to the loo and not being able to slide the little bastards off my hips).
Regardless, this business of stealing from your boyfriend's closet (what eff-ing boyfriend? And shouldn't you be a little concerned if you and your boy share the same pant size?) has become the latest in the recessionista trends. Coupled with baggy jumpers, oversized shirt-dresses and waistcoats, the boyfriend jean is apparently the latest must-have. They seem so sloppy, so unappealing, and so anti-fashion it reeks of some kind of conspiracy (I can't grapple with an ugly clothes conspiracy today though). Perhaps everyone in Hollywood is fat and this is their way of hiding it? The trend was started by mothers with newly borns after all (I'm thinking Katie Holmes, Gwen Stefani, Reese Witherspoon et al). Regardless, I fear that this austerity business that is gripping the globe, courtesy of the GFC (eeegh... here was me thinking it was a Gulf Food Crisis - lord knows why), is being taken too far. We must relax, wear colour and totter around in high heels. Consumer confidence is the only way out of this mess, I'm sure of it!
Perhaps some of my other bloggers can explain this trend? I thought it was agreed during the Seinfeld years that the hems of jeans would never be rolled up?
The boyfriend jean - first sighted on Katie Holmes to considerable derision. And then the trend caught on...

Bad Hair Day

Muchos pleased to see this morning that Beyonce's latest hair-do is also a fashion-do. Beyonce has been copping it lately with her questionable outfits, however at least she's getting the coiffe right at least.
I'm also pleased because, having not been to the hairdresser for oooh.... I don't know, EIGHT weeks not only are my roots now practically my permanent hair colour, the rest of the hair is a total schamozzle. So, unwittingly, I'd been adopting the hair style which is currently the height of fashion. For practical reasons only: high ponytails in hot weather are a given, and the need to not resemble a prima ballerina with your hair scraped way back means searching for a stylish alternative. The Beyonce.
Remember when this style was in fashion circa 2002? Back then, we called it 'The Elvis' because it resembled Elvis' combed back bouffant (also coinciding with the release of a greatest hits album as well as the remix of A Little Less Conversation).
I'm amazed at the rapid cycle in hair fashions, but then, I really shouldn't be surprised. I had a fringe when it was cool circa 2003/04 and then I returned to it when it regained popularity courtesy of Kate Moss from late 2007 to 2008.
Fringes can be high maintenance, and sometimes being a member of the pack isn't exactly what you had in mind when you first sat yourself in the hairdresser's chair. Until I see everyone parading the Beyonce, I think I'm going to stick with it - it's easy (all you need is hairspray - hello! dance school has left me with a legacy of half-full cans of hair spray, although I think I'll leave the glitter hairspray well alone) and sleek, minimalist and stylish, which I believe is the look a recessionista must go for (on work days - I'm still fantasising about the big-big-hair from New York fashion week and the Barbie models' jumbo hair for play-dates on the weekend).
